A very clear book :)

This is a fine book from an author who collaborated with other writers to make a book that clearly explains the common diseases that disturb the human body and its organ systems.
What makes this book so good is that before the book discusses about the various diseases that affect the organ systems of the body, you get a preceding chapter that explains the physiology of that organ system when homeostatically normal. This allows the student a quick review and allows the student to compare the behavior of the organ system's state when it is healthy to when it is altered by disease. Additionally, this book comes with an excellent studyguide to help the student focus on what is important about the various diseases, syndromes and conditons that can make the body unhealthy. The CD that comes with this book is a great educational tool as well. The writers and the publishers of this book did a very fine job of making sure all the tools are in place to help the student appreciate and understand pathophysiology and its importance in the health field.
This book also has good color pictures of how various diseases look and flow charts of how the disease progresses or manifests.
The only problem with this book(a minor problem) is that some diseases are not discussed deeply enough. I think that since this is a pathophysiology book, it should go more indepth with the common diseases. An example is the disease glacoma. I'm not sure if it covers glacoma but if it did, it did not cover the signs and symptoms of it enough. It needs to focus on the mechanism of the disease on a cellular level as well as on an organ level. There are some diseases in which the signs, symptoms and diagnosis is well portrayed but the mechnisms are not. Also it needs to focus less on the treatment of the disease and more on the diagnosis IMHO, however that is disputable becuae that is just my opinion.
Overall this is a fine book. I guess in time this book will have some new improvement when the new editions come out. Good book.

Good for nurses or for any interested layperson

This book gives you a good introduction to pathophysiology without being very technical. Even if you are not a medical professional, you will still grasp the concepts because the author gives simple but adequate definition of the disease and its underlying causes. I am a career switcher (switched to RN) and this book worked for me.

Excellent Book

Extremely well written, well edited. Also includes the basic physiology so don't feel intimidated if you're not fresh on that. Well organized. Covers all aspects, such as normal versus "abnormal", pathogenesis, sequelae, pharmacology, etc. In short, it's very complete. Yet very readable. Of all my nursing and biology books, this is one of my favorites.

An unique reading experiencing.

In "Where I end and You Begin" we meet Bianca, a young woman filled with emotional demons and drowning her pain in alcohol, partying, and sex with men she barely knows only to feel ashamed and embarrassed about it the next day. After a humiliating experience in her Holocaust class, the young teacher who had stepped in for the day calls her out on her behavior and reports her to the Dean while offering his support and counselling if she needs it. She resists his help at first, but upon hitting rock bottom she seeks out his assistance. As their bond gets stronger so do their feelings towards each other and they find themselves fighting urges that could put their newfound friendship in danger.

The writing in this story is very smooth. The author does a good job of pulling the reader into the story and having you root for the unlikely heroine. With most NA I've read recently, it seems to be the woman is trying to save the hero, or there is a rock star or billionaire involved. This is a refreshing change. If you're looking for a well-written, page turning book that is a refreshing break from the norm, then I recommend giving this one a try.

I found a haunting gem with this one!

I am totally fascinated with novels that reach inside me and stir up my emotions. Bringing flashes of my own past into focus again. The loves, the loss, the trials that have formed me into the being that I am.

These novels are rare, gems buried in the depths of electronic words and hidden, not intentionally, but obscured by the endless supply of predicable works that cause me to fall asleep prematurely.

Where I End and You Begin kept me up until 4 am in the morning. I was once told that a great author always leaves a piece of their heart and soul in their novels. I feel after finishing this book that I left a piece of my own soul scattered on the pages along with the heroine.

I want to rant over how many parts of this novel I highlighted and how the tears flowed openly over heart-touching moments and some that almost ripped me to shreds. Not everyone will be able to appreciate and love this book as I do, although everyone should have the pleasure of reading this one.

Andra Brynn wrote something here that is more than a story, a ride, or an adventure. She confessed, released, and purged into the story a distinguished and enduring creation that is timeless.

I love stories that opens your soul and then clings to your heart... this one will haunt me for years to come.

So, as a published author myself, I do not approach such a dark threshold. I have admiration for any author that does so. Andra Brynn, consider this a Standing Ovation, Bravo!!!

This is the best NA book

Seriously, this is probably the best new adult romance out there right now. With tons of emotional tension and the best friendship-turned-romance I've read in a while, it managed to make me laugh and cry within pages. Bianca is one of my favorite unlikely heroines. Awesome!!

Definitely try this out, this book's ending is soooooo worth it!

About the Author
Ricky W. Griffin serves as Distinguished Professor of Management and Blocker Chair in Business at Texas A&M. He received his Ph.D. in organizational behavior from the University of Houston. He served as editor of the Journal of Management and as an officer in the Southwest Regional Division of the Academy of Management, the Southern Management Association, and the Research Methods Division and the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management. Dr. Griffin spent three years on the faculty at the University of Missouri (Columbia) before moving to Texas A&M University in 1981. His research interests include workplace violence, employee health and well-being in the workplace, and workplace culture. A well-respected author recognized for his organizational behavior and management research, Dr. Griffin has written many successful textbooks, including: Management, Organizational Behavior, HR, Management Skills, Introduction to Business, and International Business.

Gregory Moorhead is an associate professor of management at Arizona State University. He attended Texas Tech University and the University of Houston. He earned his BSIE, M.B.A., and Ph.D. in organizational behavior and management. He joined the faculty at ASU in 1978 and has taught courses in management principles, management policy and strategy, personnel management, and operations management, as well as graduate seminars in organizational behavior and international management. Dr. Moorhead has written numerous articles that have been published in leading managerial journals, including ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT JOURNAL, ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT REVIEW, HUMAN RELATIONS, ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR AND HUMAN DECISION PROCESSES, EDUCATIONAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL MEASUREMENT, JOURNAL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES, and others. His research focuses on the fields of groupthink, group decision-making, job design, leadership, and organization structure. He frequently travels internationally with his students, giving him a unique first-hand perspective on numerous global topics.

Not much to say about text books. This one is not as bad as most text books, it is better than most in its layout and depth of content. It is by no means the ultimate book on organizational behavior, but it is one of the better ones. Just with it wasn't so darn expensive.

This book was shipped and wasn't even a book. All loose leaf paper, made with extremely thin paper. Very disappointed. Also will be contacting the publisher, because I believe it was photocopied. ILLEGAL

About the Author

As editor of Mustang Monthly magazine, Donald Farr has been researching and writing about Mustangs for over 30 years. In addition to his magazine work, Farr authored Mustang Boss 302: Ford's Trans-Am Pony Car and co-wrote How to Restore Your Mustang and the Mustang Recognition Guide with Mustang Monthly founder Larry Dobbs. Farr was inducted into the Mustang Hall of Fame in 2012.

Edsel B. Ford II is the great-grandson of Henry Ford, founder of Ford Motor Company. His grandfather was Edsel B. Ford, company president from 1919 to 1943, and his late father, Henry Ford II, was president of the company from 1945 to 1960. Edsel B. Ford II was named president and chief operating officer of Ford Motor Credit Company in May 1991 and elected a company vice president in December 1993. A graduate of Babson College and Harvard Business School, he is currently a member of the Ford Motor Company board of directors.

Beautifully written piece of scholarship

McKisack has researched this era thoroughly. Her description of the reign of Edward ll was actually gripping and her view of Edward lll was compelling - a useful correction of Bishop Studds' Constitutional History which is also worth reading by the way. McKisack's scholarship and intelligence shines through each page and its supporting footnotes. I would strongly recommend this whole series from Oxford if you want to see medieval history brought to life based on sound research.

Like the rest of Oxford's History of England series, McKisack's book is a classic. It is thorough, well-indexed, and a pleasure for both casual reading and serious research. It's good to know that the book is still in print.
