The perfect partner towards a better life

Melissa has come along at the absolute perfect time and her message can serve absolutely anyone. Her message is so simple and yet SO profound: that mean girl voice inside all of our head's is running our lives! And it has to stop. I used to approach each problem on the surface of it, but now with Melissa's guidance I know the real work is actually to master my mean girl. The thoughts and stories we tell ourselves are the 'truth' underpin absolutely everything we do in our life. And slowly but surely I'm making my way to saying "Thanks but no thanks" to my mean girl and building the life of my dreams. People who want a quick fix that promises to clear all your problems right away, this book is not for you! This book is real talk, no BS, and Melissa herself completely walks her talk. Get this book now, it'll change your life.

Get this book now, I think I could read this once a quarter and my life would constantly improve. I learned so much, no I realized so much. The way that Melissa puts into words concepts that had been floating around in my head made them more concrete and actionable. While it factors in being a mother a lot, I would suggest all mothers read this and share the relevant pieces with their daughters. I wish my mom had read this when I was growing up and taught me these concepts early, would've saved me from a lot of struggle, pain, confusion, etc.

Mastering Your Mean Girl is full of positivity and self-love, so I'd recommend this to anyone looking to improve their life and find more inner peace.

So unlike the characters he plays

I have been a Kane Hodder fan for many years - apparently more than I realized. He has performed stunt work in everything from "Emergency" & "Wonder Women" up to the iconic monster Jason from "Friday the 13th". His newest character - Victor Crowley - is soon to rival any big screen horror icon.

However, that's only half the story. Kane Hodder is absolutely nothing like the characters he plays. And I can attest to this - I've met the man. He absolutely LOVES his fans, talking almost twice the amount of time to talk with then at conventions than most celebrities. He helps mentally heal burn victims (being one himself) and even picked a fan up out of his wheelchair to carry him through a haunted house when Kane found out it wasn't wheelchair accessible.

Even if you know NOTHING of horror movies - or even who Kane Hodder is - you need to make this book a top priority on your reading list. It is funny, open, graphic (explaining his burns) and inspirational. I've read it multiple times already. Don't hesitate. Buy it. Read it. Then go out and meet the man like I did.

Wow!!!!! You NEED to read this book!

When my long awaited,pre ordered book arrived, I sat down and read it cover to cover. Having loved Kane's work since the early 80's, I had always wanted a peek of the man behind the mask (or butcher's apron..). This book will make you laugh,cry and fall in love with Kane all over again! The pics alone make the book a MUST HAVE. This is the hottest man on the planet...even when he is rocking a 1974 long haired hippie " but I'm still gonna kill u" hair do! Seriously..treat yourself and your loved ones to this gem of a book!

Couldn't put it down!

As Kane's story begins, he starts off with a traumatic beating he took at a young age by three unknown teenagers. The beating left him temporarily bruised and mentally scarred for the rest of his life. He goes on to describe many other bullying events or fights that happened in his life as well. I was utterly shocked at the beating he took as a child from unknown teenagers, for NO apparent reason.

He goes on to describe how he got into the movie business and he also tells the real story about how he got 3rd degree burns over 50% of his body. Honestly, it was very emotional for me to read...I look up to him for the fact that he was able to get through it all and make something of himself, as well as help others with their burns.

Kane goes on to talk about his strange OCD habits and movies he's worked on as well as different people he's worked with in the industry..and in the last few chapters he goes on to tell different stories from the sets of the Friday The 13th films he worked on as well as stories from the sets of Hatchet 1 & 2 and Frozen. Mainly they are stories about all the jokes he played on people during filming...and trust me there are a lot. Seeing that he's such a big jokester I'm sure he probably left out a ton.

If you are a fan of Kane's you need to read this!

However, the characters are fascinating and passionate, and the drama unfolds like a good novel. Librarians should buy this script not simply because the playwright is a legend or because it is likely to become a classic but because it is a sensitive and penetrating look at human frailties. It should be a part of every dramatic literature or theater collection.

A compelling drama about fear

This Mobil Masterpiece Theater production of an adapatation of Arthur Miller's play is a gripping look at both the dilemma of being Jewish in pre-war America, as well as a fascinating look at how fear can, literally, cripple a life.
The story revolves around a married Jewish couple, the Gellburgs, in Brooklyn in 1938. Mrs. Gellburg suddenly finds herself unable to move her legs, and becomes the patient of Dr. Hyman, played powerfully by Mandy Patinkin. Mr. Gellburg, in a way, also becomes the patient of Dr. Hyman as Mrs. Gellburg's diagnosis is revealed to be hysterical paralysis -- i.e., it's all in her head.
What Dr. Hyman is left to uncover about the Gellburgs, including both the extremely personal -- their marriage and their identity as Jews -- and the extremely impersonal -- the beginning of the torture and slaughter of Jews in Germany -- teaches great lessons about the choices we make in our lives; when to give in, when to stand up and say, "Enough." Fear can be either a force for change, or an excuse to avoid the inevitable pains of life.
I highly recommend this serious and thought-provoking drama; it provides much food for thought for people of any age or situation.

"Broken Glass" is a thriller set in 1938 that personifies the fear that Hitler caused Jews in America. While this plot seems compelling, the story falls a little flat it other areas. This is far from Miller's best work.

When Sylvia suddenly looses the use of her legs, medical origins are unexpected. Yet as the story evolves, we find the cause to be psychological. It is suspected that a fear of the Nazi's treatment of Jews in Germany has caused her paralysis. However, there was something more. Sylivia has lived in a marriage with her husband Phillip that feels empty. They have not consumated their marriage in twenty years when their last child was conceived. In so many ways, this work does not seem to have the fingerprints of Arthur Miller. The characters are one dimensional and forced just for the sake of discussing one of Miller's most comfortable plots, anti-Semitism. Many of Miller's later works are disappointing. This fits that category.
